Zoological Research, produced by Kunming Institute of Zoology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Zoological Society, was established in 1980 and is published bimonthly. Currently, it serves as a key journal focusing on Primates and Animal Models, Conservation and Utilization of Animal Resources, and Animal Diversity and Evolution. The journal also publishes high quality papers related to taxonomy and DNA barcoding, developmental biology, physiology, biochemistry, immunology, and neuroscience. The papers and abstracts are freely available online (Open Access) both in PubMed Central (https://preview.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/journals/2884/) and http://www.zoores.ac.cn/ and free of page charges.
Subscribers are mostly from an academic background. They include researchers, students, university lecturers and doctors and professionals who majored in life sciences, natural resource management, teaching and production.
The journal is released bimonthly on the 18th of the month. Each volume includes about 120 pages in A4 format and costs ￥120.00. All volumes in a year costs ￥720.00.
