This paper deals with 12 species of Callaphididae from China.Among them 7 species and a genus are described as new to science.All the types are deposited in the Institute of Zoology,Academia Sinica.
By means of chloramine T oxidation method,α-neurotoxin from Naja naja was labeled with [131]Ⅰ.After passing over a sephadex G-25 column and applied assending paper chromatograph,the rate of label reached to higher degree (80%).The specific activity was 6 μCi/μg.With the help of two dimentional double immunodiffusion and rocket immunoelectrophotesis self-illumination,its antigenicity still maintained was proved.
Although several studies on the morphology of post-cercarial development of Schistosoma japonicum have already been made,very few data are available regarding its physiology and metabolic characterestics during its growth in the final host.Such knowledge will greatly contribute to a better understanding of both chemoprophylaxis and immunology of schistosomiasis.This paper deals with the localization and dynamic changes of histochmistry in schistosomula during the coures of their development.Histochemical observations indicate that the constituents in the developing schistosomula vary greatly at different stages,and the following aspects are worthy to be mentioned.
Mole rat (Myospalax fontanierii Mile-Edwards) is one of the destructive animals to the pasture of Qinghai plateau.We had obrerved the reproduction of this rat at Men Yuan Horse-Breeder Ranch from 1977 to 1978.The altitude of Men Yuan Horse-Breeder Ranch is over 3200 m.It is at the eastsouth foot of Qilian mountain and belongs to the cold moist climate.
This is the first paper to report the observations of the karyotype and banding patterns of the cell of ascites reticulum-cell sarcoma (ARS) in mouse,which has been established in our country.ARS is a hyperdiploid tumor.Modal number of the chromosomes is 44 (37.7%).Seven marker chromosomes were discovered.Morphological characteristics,the distributions of G- and C-bands and the location of nucleolus organizer regions (NORs) of the tumor chromosomes were described in detail.
The present paper recorded the karyotypes of bone marrow cells of three species of the squirrels collected from southern China.Among them,the karyotypes of two geographical subspecies of Red-abdomen Squirrel (Callosciurus erythraeus castanecventris and C.e.michianus) were much alike.They were found to possess the diploid chromosome number of 40 (I.e.2n=40),FN=72,including 7 pairs of metacentric chromosomes,8 pairs of submetacentric ones,2 pairs of subtelocentric ones and 2 pairs of telocentric ones.No.18 was a pair of subteloentric chromosomes with satellites on the short arms.X-chromosome was a larger metacentric chromosome,Y-chromosome was a smallest subtelocentric one.The differences of the two karyotypes were just the variation of the arm ratio and of the relative lengths of some chromosomes (No.3.4.5.10.11.X and Y).In pernys Long-nosed Squirrel (Dremomys pernyi flavior),2n=40,FN=70.The 19 pairs of autosomes consisted of 8 pairs of metacentric chromosomes,8 pairs of submetacentric ones and 3 pairs of telocentric ones.No.18 was a pair of telocentric chromosomes absent from satellites,though a little below the centric there was a characteristiric ones;Y-chromosome was a medium submetacentric one.In Forrests Rock Squirrel (Sciurotamias forresti),2n=38,FN=72.The 18 pairs of autosomes consisted of 8 pairs of metacentric chromosomes,9 pairs of submetacentric ones and a pair of subtelocentric one,which (I.e.No.18) satellites on the short arms as Calllosciurus erythraeus.Sex chromosomes of both sexes were metacentric chromosomes,among them,X-chromosomes were larger,but Y-chromosome was the smallest.In the last part of this paper,we compared and analyzed the karyotypes of four genera of squirrels in Callosciurini tribe (Sciuridae,Rodentia) and discussed evolution of their karyotypes.
The Eastern Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea robusta) is one of the commonest Summer migratory birds in the region of the river-side in Changbai shan,Jilin Province.They usually arrive the said mountain at the beginning of April to the middle of April,and remain there until the end of September to the beginning of October.
The morphology of the ten species of Eimeria found in the domestic rabbit of Kunming were studied.They are Eimeria stiedae,E.irresidua,E.perforans,E.intestinalis,E.piriformis,E.coecicola,E.media,E.magna,E.neoleporis and E.exigua.We came across E.neoleporis in domestic rabbits reared in laboratory hutches where there was no chance for the animals to come in contact with wild rabbits.The oocyst residuum of E.stiedar was seen in the oocysts both from the faeces and from the liver of naturally infected rabbits,The residuum consisted of 1-7 granules situated centrally in the oocyst.
414 wild rhesus monkeys captured in Yunnan.Guangsj,Sichuan and Kwangtong provinces were examined for endoparasites.
