Saccade: A Potential Diagnostic Tool and Drug Efficacy Test Criterion for Mental Disorders

摘要: 研究深入的神经调控机制、定量的行为检测指标以及成熟的研究范式可能会使快速跳视（saccade）在精神疾病研究和临床诊断中发挥重要作用。理论上讲，它不仅可以帮助研究者寻找神经系统病变早期的特异性检测指标，而且能成为新药开发与药效评价的衡量标准。帕金森病、老年痴呆与抑郁症患者都存在快速跳视的控制异常，然而这些异常是如何发展变化以及怎样排除患者个体差异的影响一直是研究工作进一步深入的绊脚石，建立猕猴精神疾病模型并在建模过程中不断监测快速跳视各项指标的变化可能会帮我们找到疾病早期病变检测的特异指标并为临床新药的开发搭建药效评价的平台。Abstract: Saccades may play an important role in mental disorders research and diagnosis. Not only can saccade be used to help researchers to acquire the early and specific neuropathological changes, but also be a criterion of new drug development and drug efficacy tests. Abnormalities of saccadic eye movement appear in Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and major depressive disorder patients, but difficulties for its applications arise from unclear processes of neuropathological development and individual differences in patients. Establishing nonhuman primates’ model of mental disorders and monitoring saccadic parameters during the model construction will help us to overcome such difficulties.
