Abstract: Pela insect is an important species of forest resources insect in the temperate zone.In the years of 1980 to 1982,we introduced pela insects from Zhaotong of Yunnan Province and Weining of Guizhou Province respectively to the south subtropics of Jingdong of 24°28′ north latitude.The result of the experiment indicated that the adaptibility of pela insect to different climatic conditions and the ecological enviroments were quite strong and plasticity quite big.It subsisted and developed not only in the temperate zone but in south subtropics as well,thus acrossing the demarcation of 26°north latitude,pointd out by professor Wang Fu in 1963 and 1978.Pela insects are stab in generation and develop normaly and produce wax in Jingdong.
